It is really hard to believe that Scott & I got married six years ago today. I have said so much about that day since then, and about how much I love him, and about how he is seriously the only person in the world willing to put up with my BS long term ... and how that's a two way street, of course ;) -- so I won't go into it again here today, except to say that I still love him, and he still loves me. I daresay we love each other (and respect each other) far more than we did back then, just because being married to another person takes trust, and communication, and a lot of
really hard work (anyone who tells you otherwise is doing you a disservice), along with the ability not to clobber your spouse (ie, self-control) when they are driving you
insane. And oh yes, of course we drive each other nuts! I'd be very worried if we didn't! But our desire to keep living together far outweighs our epic disagreements about toothpaste. Isn't it funny -- it turns out, toothpaste arguments can get pretty heated!
Today we're celebrating our sixth anniversary in Lake Tahoe. Apparently this is the Iron Anniversary ... I just asked Scott for the Iron Throne for a gift but he just laughed at me ... c'est la vie!
In conclusion, we couldn't have made it this far without little trips like this, as they are absolutely imperative to maintaining sanity. We're here until Thursday night, and I can't wait to share our adventures (and pictures) with friends & family & the internets. I hope to have a couple of posts scheduled but I may not ... as if anyone cares but me. 'Til then, have a great week!
