Scott in the distance at the Ralston White Retreat in Mill Valley // the reception spot for the wedding we shot Sunday |
But today. Today! Last night, I had a dream about running. It was an incredibly vivid, powerful dream. I woke up this morning feeling more or less like myself again, with a fire lit under me. I've been very productive today, and even went on an unscheduled 3.1 mile run out in the summer heat .... it was fantastic, and my legs feel awesome, and I'm so happy to be feeling relatively well again. My voice is still extremely scratchy, but its there, and I can't express how relieved I am to not be suffering from near-total laryngitis anymore. Not much is worse to me than not being able to talk!
Anyway, now that I'm on the mend, lets catch up. Currently I am:
Wishing —That I was done with all of the photo edits I must deliver before tomorrow. I am really behind, still, and I have a hard deadline of tonight. Also? Getting the photos from last weekend's wedding off of my CF cards has to happen tonight, too. And packing ... and cleaning ....
Reading —Still making my way through A Feast For Crows, the 4th book in the Song of Ice and Fire series. I am starting to equally look forward to and fear the third season of Game of Thrones, now that I know how much they significantly altered certain plot lines during the second season. Eek. I am trying to keep in mind that a TV show cannot be verbatim what a complicated book is, but I need to remember that during the next season as well. I shouldn't expect them to be the same, and neither should you. TV is its own art form, different from that of a novel.
Cooking —Salsa! Tonight is Taco Night at Chez Gregory, so I bought a jalapeno earlier and will be using up the rest of our tomatoes/cucumber tonight to make a fresh summer salsa.
Anticipating —Our trip to Lake Tahoe (and our 6th wedding anniversary) tomorrow! I am so, so unbelievably excited to take this trip, and so happy to celebrate another year with my awesome husband.
Missing —The cats ... already. Last night I started thinking about three days & two nights without them, and I got very sad. As much as they drive me crazy, I will miss them while we're gone. Fortunately, our close friend (& extraordinary vegan blogger) Susie will be watching the boys, so we know they're in the best of hands.
I linked up with Harvesting Kale & This Amazing Day, and you should, too! Except, you know, on Thursdays ... not on Mondays.
So glad to hear that you're feeling better :)
ReplyDeleteI'm slightly jealous of taco night - which is always a favourite around here.
Have a great time on your trip and happy anniversary!
Thank you!! And oh, taco night. Who DOESN'T love it??
