Today began with a lazy morning at home, followed by a 5 mile run and a trip to the farmers market. As usual, it was wonderful. I saw a lot of summer fruits and vegetables at the market today, though it's still a wee bit early for me to delve into summer squash -- I know I will be BURIED in summer squash come June-August, so why bring that upon myself now?! And I don't care whether the tomatoes appearing at the market are there because they were grown in a greenhouse -- I'd rather wait the few extra weeks for massive outdoor-grown heirlooms to appear. Speaking of drowning, I'm looking very much forward to drowning in various types of tomatoes all summer long.
The rest of the day was spent doing nothing but watching the Eurovision Song Contest (SOOOO GOOD) and I'm looking forward to an evening of dinner at our favorite diner, and a movie. And wine, and some cookies (I couldn't resist cookies from Batter Bakery today). It's been a really nice, laid back day. And thanks to the gift of a three day weekend, there are two more days left to go! In the meantime, here are this week's farmers market snapshots:
