Snapshots from a happy life

Last night I registered for my next race, and it's for a cause that is really close to my heart: the Marine Mammal Center's Run for the Seals, a 4 mile race in the Marin Headlands on Saturday, March 10th. I'm not used to running 4 miles (actually, I've never run 4 miles before), but I'm confident that I can do it. Plus, I really believe in the Marine Mammal Center & its mission. I sort of have to do this, if you know what I'm saying.

The weekend was great, but I didn't get to show many photos from it, so here are some that encompass the entire last few days. It's been a really good time.

The view from the starting line of the race, on Grant & Sacramento; my Zipcar (Crabtree) who I love so much, just sitting around by his lonesome in the Zipcar parking lot ... I kind of feel like I should have reserved him, he looks so lonely! :/

Ingredients for my mushroom-red wine marinara sauce, about to be cooked; my new California olive oil, guilt-free.
1. Chickpea-romanesco stew (over couscous, not pictured); 2. Zeke hates me when I do this; 3. Romanesco; 4. Last night, with a crock pot soup that I actually ended up hating ... hey, I don't get 100% on everything, sometimes I miss.

Life is good. Really good. And I've got a bounce in my step today.

While Scott has been gone, I've watched a lot of Star Trek and 30 Rock. Clearly he needs to come home now!
