Well, you know
We all want to change
For some reason, whenever I think of new years resolutions, I always think of this song. I guess its not altogether off topic; after all, new years resolutions are supposed to be personal revolution, right?
I started writing this post yesterday, but due to the last-minute insanity preparing for our new years party (which went amazingly well, by the way), I was unable to devote the time to finishing it. After a sleeping marathon today, I'm feeling clear headed & ready to face the year, as well as this post.
In previous years, I've made highly detailed resolutions that I was unable to stick to. I know that "they" say to make detailed resolutions so that you have less wiggle room in interpretation later, but this year I don't want to do super specific resolutions. I'm turning 30 this year. I'm a real adult, or so "they" say. And like everything else in life, I'm putting my foot down. I'm doing this my way, "they" be damned!
On that note, here's a list of the things I want to do in 2012:
- Shoot at least 5 weddings & continue to grow my photography business. Learn to market myself.
- Run more & swim more (I'm thinking of starting w/ once per week of each).
- Continue to be 90% + vegan, & look to become more so.
- Really start to take care of myself on a more consistent basis.
- Take photos every day. Work work work hard, and play hard, with the camera. No laziness!
- No excuses.
- Be true to my heart. Finish what I start. Plan ahead & don't deviate.
- Follow my to-do list & calendar more, and accomplish more in 2012 than in 2011.
- Don't panic, because everything will be alright, and panic only decreases productivity.
- Figure out what I'm going to do with/at my job.
- Learn to sew.
- Read at least 10 books.
- Grow the readership of this blog & improve content.
- Figure out what the "next steps" are in my life (easier said than done, but necessary).
Happy new year, everyone! ♥ What are some of your resolutions? ☆
