This morning I was doing so well with my to-do list: I got up early, had my coffee, went to the farmers market (and got the most amazing bunch of green onions for $2; I love the farmers market so much!), came back and opened an account with a new bank, went to the store, made brunch, and took a 2.5 hour long nap (yes, it really was that great).
Of course, not all usually goes according to plan, and today was no exception--at 5pm, just as we turned on a football game, the power went out. As it was dark and hot in the house, Scott & I decided to head down to our local Mexican restaurant (which doubles as a quasi-sports bar), get some food & beer, and watch some of the games (Oklahoma-Oklahoma State & Wisconsin-Michigan State).
This turned out to be a blessing in disguise ... relaxing, tasty and we got to hang out with each other. When we returned an hour and a half later, the power was back on! Lots of lessons to learn from this.
And on that note...
I have been thinking about this all day. I don't mean to toot my own horn or anything, but I think I'm a pretty naturally fascinating person, and it doesn't take effort for me to be interesting. I have a huge variety of interests, many of them seemingly conflicting, and I am constantly learning new things, educating myself on whatever catches my fancy, putting myself in the thick of things. I am a seeker and a dreamer by nature; I will never stop seeking or dreaming. I'm a firecracker and I'm inappropriate and I think rules were made to be broken. I love to keep people guessing & I refuse to be pigeonholed.
This is "my secret," I guess, though to me its just who I am, and requires little effort.
I hope that didn't come off as arrogant. It wasn't intended to be. I would love it if everyone cultivated the same sorts of attitudes (just, you know, don't step on my toes ... ahem).
As a couple, Scott and I are very well suited to each other in this way. Though we're very different people in certain ways, we're both extremely varied in our interests and seekers of new information and experiences, always. That's what keeps us fascinating. And it's worked out splendidly so far ☆
